We calculate the carbon footprint of Scope 1 and 2 for the company Residuos Murcia S.L. to register it in the Register of footprint, compensation and CO2 absorption projects of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge.
The Register, created by Royal Decree 163/2014, of 14 March, includes the efforts of Spanish organizations in the calculation and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions generated by their activity. In turn, it facilitates the possibility of compensating all or part of their carbon footprint, through a series of forest projects located in national territory. These projects integrate numerous environmental and social benefits, including the absorption of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, also known as carbon sequestration.
All the footprints recorded must be accompanied by a reduction plan, and they are checked prior to registration.
When an organization registers, it receives a certificate of registration and the right to use a stamp. This seal allows you to distinguish at a glance:
The level of participation of the organization in the Register:
- if it calculates its footprint, it has managed to reduce it or if it has compensated all or part of it.
- The year to which this level of participation corresponds.
Calculating an organization’s carbon footprint is crucial to understanding and reducing its environmental impact, fostering sustainable practices. Being listed in the Ministry’s registry not only demonstrates a commitment to environmental responsibility, but can also open doors to tax benefits, access to government incentives and strengthen reputation aligned with eco-friendly practices.
